Writing songs on heart strings, Edmonton-born singer-songwriter Emily Schultz will wrap you up and joyfully take you down the road of self-reflection, hope and all the beautiful complexities of the human experience. Combining the intimacy of her storytelling and the powerful dynamics in her performance, her sound is deeply influenced by alternative soul, pop and folk, like Eva Cassidy meets Dodie meets JP Saxe. She has co-headlined several sold out shows here in Toronto, including the Great Hall, Burdock Music Hall and Rivoli, and is a seasoned festival performer at such Canadian festivals as the Edmonton Folk Music Festival and the Blue Skies Festival. Her music has been featured on eTalk, Breakfast TV Toronto and Much Music, the latter of which she worked side-by-side to produce an original song with recording artist, Allie-X. She has been featured at Canadian Music Week and has also lent her talents to the renowned Soulpepper Theatre Company in their recent remount of ‘Riverboat Coffee House: The Yorkville Scene,' taking the stage again with in Prince Edward County this July with Festival Players. Emily is also the co-founder of 'Giving Tree,' an artist collective that has teamed up with companies like 1 Hotel Toronto and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada to design events, music programs and give up-and-coming artists performance opportunities. Emily's debut collaboration 'Really Something' with Nathan Nera (released July 8th) precedes the release of her debut independent EP entitled ‘Family Name,’ which is set to be released in 2022.
