Writing songs on heart strings, Edmonton-born singer-songwriter Emily Schultz will wrap you up and joyfully take you down the road of self-reflection, hope and all the beautiful complexities of the human experience. Combining the intimacy of her storytelling and the powerful dynamics in her performance, her sound is deeply influenced by folk, roots and alternative soul, like Patty Griffin meets Ben Howard meets JP Saxe. She has co-headlined several sold out shows here in Toronto, including the Great Hall, Burdock Music Hall and Rivoli, and is a seasoned festival performer at such festivals as the Kensington Jazz Festival and the Hops & Harvest Festival among many others. Her music has been featured on eTalk, Breakfast TV and Much Music, the latter of which she worked side-by-side to produce an original song with recording artist, Allie-X. She has been featured multiple times at Canadian Music Week and has also lent her talents to the renowned Soulpepper Theatre Company and The Festival Players Theatre Company. Additionally, Emily is the co-founder of 'Giving Tree,' an artist collective that has teamed up with companies like 1 Hotel Toronto and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada to design events, music programs, community outreach and give up-and-coming artists performance opportunities. Emily's recent debut release 'Times Like These' preceded the drop of her highly anticipated second single 'What Do I Know,' both available everywhere now. These are the first of many songs off Emily's debut EP entitled 'Family Name,' which will be available globally in 2023.
